I was diagnosed with TMJ dysfunction mid 2023 via a chiropractor who specialised in TMJ care.  A number of visits over approximately 3 months assisted with the joint issue and related discomfort.  After a visit to the dentist in June 2024 I experienced significant muscle tension, and a high degree of discomfort, almost daily.  I returned to the chiropractor but found that the methods used previously (including dry needing) did not alleviate the tension in any lasting way. After trying traditional acupuncture for a few months with no real benefit, I began receiving electroacupuncture via Dr Philip Tring, Acupuncture Geelong (Belmont).  At that point I had experienced significant daily muscle tension for over a year.  I had 12 consecutive electroacupuncture treatments, weekly.  I noticed a slight difference after the first few visits which was encouraging.  As the weeks progressed I noticed more and more benefit and as time went on I found that if I felt muscle tension it would not escalate to the level it had previously and it would not persist. I am now having treatment once a month and this is working well. I have gone from experiencing significant muscle tension, and the associated discomfort (and distress), which would interrupt my daily activities and impact my mood, to a point now where I'm able to get through most days without giving my jaw/muscle tension a thought. Philip is friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable.  I absolutely recommend Philip and am very grateful for his expertise and assistance to date.

After 2 years of suffering from constant headaches, I decided to Give Dr Phillip Tring from Acupuncture Geelong a call. He was polite, helpful and booked me in as soon as he had availability. After 2 sessions my headaches had disappeared and haven't returned since (It's been 18 months). I still have regular appointments as I am a plumber and often need maintenance on myself. Cannot recommend high enough.

I’ve been suffering with migraines for 17 or so years and on a daily basis. I have tried everything under the sun. My ex partner had suggested acupuncture with Dr Phillip Tring. I have been seeing Phillip since July 2025, in the first month I had noticed my migraines had dropped. Ever since I only get the odd migraine here and there.

Couldn’t recommend Dr Phillip Tring at Acupuncture Geelong enough! Had back pains for 7 years due to work. From first appointment was a massive improvement to know doing fortnightly appointments to keep the back pain to nearly nothing.
