I highly recommend acupuncture with Joel. He’s an absolute expert who understands the holistic concept of the whole body and mind. I’ve previously had acupuncture in silence, no guidance or reflections. This is such a change and refreshing experience. My sessions feel like therapy and I’m starting to feel wholesome within myself. I’ve Joel to thank. Additionally I’d like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to the wonderful lady at the reception. Will Take the Defence Dollar, Not the Defence Veteran Paddington Clinic has operated in Brisbane since 1983 and carries a well-earned reputation in acupuncture, naturopathy, massage, and herbal medicine. The practitioners are credentialled, the services are genuine, and the clinic's focus areas — pain management, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, stress and anxiety — align precisely with the conditions that affect veterans in disproportionate numbers. On paper, this should be an ideal provider for DVA patients. It is not. Paddington Clinic does not accept DVA patients. What makes this difficult to accept is not simply the omission. It is the contradiction sitting alongside it. The clinic proudly lists Defence Health among its accepted private health funds — processed on the spot through their HICAPS terminal, rebate paid instantly, gap only. Defence Health exists specifically to serve current and former Australian Defence Force members and their families. The clinic is, by its own advertising, happy to engage with the defence community when there is a private health fund standing between the patient and the bill. But here is the reality that Paddington Clinic may not have considered, or perhaps has chosen not to. DVA Gold Card holders — veterans with accepted conditions covering all healthcare needs — were advised by Defence Health itself that they no longer require private health insurance. That is the point of the Gold Card: comprehensive coverage, no gap, no fund required. I was a Defence Health member for 25 years after leaving the Army before being told exactly that. The Gold Card renders private health cover redundant. So the clinic's position, in effect, is this: it will process a Defence Health claim from a serving member or a veteran who has not yet qualified for a Gold Card, but it will not see the veteran whose service was significant enough, and whose conditions were serious enough, to earn the most comprehensive coverage the Commonwealth provides. The administrative hurdle of DVA registration apparently outweighs any obligation to that cohort. It is an incongruous position for a clinic that markets itself on treating "almost every condition you can think of" and welcoming patients as part of "the Paddington Clinic family." Some families, it seems, are more welcome than others. The expertise is clearly there. The willingness, apparently, is not.

Fantastic place! I highly recommend Paddington Clinics services. Tracey is amazing and so gentle and kind. She has a wealth of knowledge and is talented at helping you manage your health and great at acupuncture. She has helped me immensely improve my health. Also shoutout to the reception team, they are so lovely and helpful.

Most amazing and relax place, the staff are the best, love my acupuncture sessions with Mary, muscular and acupuncture sessions with Paul and incredible message with Meg too! I’m coming to this place for years and I feel healthy and thankful for all the help I’m receiving there! I’m grateful to have Paddington Clinic and their incredible support!

I have been coming to The Paddington Clinic for 4 years now and I have never felt better - physically, mentally, and emotionally. Every treatment is such a pleasure - from the lovely staff at the front desk to the treatment room. Peter, Mary, Joel and Rachel are all exceptional clinicians & I simply cannot recommend them & the clinic highly enough.
