I initially sought out Kata’s support for persistent gut issues that I had been experiencing for many months. Thanks to her care and expertise, those issues have improved so significantly that I sometimes forget how much they once affected me. Since then, I’ve also turned to Kata for help with anxiety and acute injuries. More recently, inflammation in the bursitis above my heel bone (as shown in the attached image). Her support has been instrumental in my running journey and in improving my overall health. Kata is incredibly caring and knowledgeable. She approaches every session with thoughtfulness and precision, always offering valuable advice tailored to my needs. She has also helped me build a strong support network, which has made a world of difference. I’m truly grateful to have found her and will continue to see her for ongoing support.

I have received treatments from Kata on and off for almost 6 years. She has always been professional, knowledgeable, and earnest in her care. She is very respectful of the needs and capacities of her clients. My first treatments were during COVID-19 lockdowns, where Kata ran free online community sessions for self-led ear acupressure following the NADA protocol or 5NP (Five needle protocol). After the lockdowns ceased, I was treated by Kata in her clinic 1-1. She provided me with treatment as well as advice on how to eat in ways that would support my system. Most recently, I have volunteered to assist Kata with her community drop-in clinic where she practices the NADA protocol. While volunteering with Kata, I have observed that Kata connects well with all who attend, which I think is the result of her many years of experience working in community. Many people who access the service return on a regular basis. Kata is an acupuncturist who is genuinely and pragmatically committed to providing health services that are as accessible as possible. I have no hesitation recommending Kata for 1-1 treatment or at the drop-in community clinic.

Kata is a true gem. She has saved my life so many times over. I don't know many people with the integrity, care and wisdom that Kata has. She has built a radical, inclusive, accessible and liberatory practice deeply connected to community and within a spirit of community care. I have been seeing Kata for over 15 years and have watched her practice evolve and adapt, and witnessed her thirst for knowledge, learning and new skills. What is genuinely impressive about Kata is the way her practice is rooted in politics and history, understanding of structural oppressions and determinants of health, and invested in knowledge exchange and community empowerment. Kata is not just an acupuncturist but a community leader, builder and speaker. From her early days as a street medic and barefoot doctor to her radical heath study tour and her nada ear acupuncture workshops, she has built a culturally responsive, trauma informed, whole of person approach to healthcare. I have been very lucky to be in her safe hands and trust in her thoughtful and consent-based approach. One of my favourite treatments with her is moxa! Highly recommend if you need a safe place to land, someone to listen and take your health concerns seriously, and a beautiful setting to heal your bodymind.

I've had the most wonderful results with Kata. She is very knowledgeable & experienced in what she does. She always listens with curiosity and with the intention to diagnose well, without ever projecting, being egotistical or dismissive. She is a true healer in every sense! Kata is accepting, endearing and as thorough as she promises on her website. After treatments I would feel relaxed and reinvigorated, but also loved to chat during sessions and make her laugh. She upholds professional boundaries and ensures you are comfortable, using consent when touching your body;)
