Newton Acupuncture is the only place I go when I need treatment. Dr.Bill is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and truly kind. He has so much experience and a deep understanding of where pain comes from and how to treat it effectively. I have been seeing him for years, and he has helped me become pain free. Dr Bill has helped me with a variety of issues over the years. Shoulder pain (two treatments and has never come back), heel pain (one treatment, has never come back), nervy neck pain (one recent treatment and feeling normal 5 days later), bad post-natal carpal tunnel (one treatment). He helped my friend greatly who saw him for hip pain she saw countless physios for over many years. He is very skilled at musculoskeletal health. Some treatments were intensely painful, most were not particularly painful. The intensely painful ones were very worthwhile. Edit: it is important to know that Bill’s practices (Newtown and Surry Hills) are not like conventional medical clinics. The buildings and rooms are old, the room is a little cluttered. I never doubted the hygiene of his equipment, but you need to expect an unconventional environment for a healthcare professional. Another reviewer mentioned he will recommend Chinese medicine with no ingredients list which definitely happens, but I have never taken any and have had no trouble when I declined. The reviewer also mentioned he isn’t big on history taking. I would agree with this. He will listen to the outline of your concerns, but focuses on examination to determine what he thinks is the problem.

I was diagnosed with meniscus tear on my left knee as well as osteoarthritis about 1+ year ago. It was worsened and since beginning of this year, my sleep had been affected due to the pain. I went to see Bill about 2 months ago and had the best sleep for the first time because I did not have knee pain. I had a total of 4 appointments with him and now I could go back and do my Zumba (albeit carefully - not too high impact). I almost lost hope because my GP indicated that the only way I could get this fixed is by having surgery! But Bill proved that the GP is wrong. Thank you so much Bill.

Bill treated my 39 week pregnant wife. We came to relieve tension and possibly bring on labour. Bill was very measured with his approach and was very calming. We think the treatment was very successful and within 24hours of treatment my wife delivered our baby. I have also been seeing Bill over the last year for neck and shoulder pain and have found his treatments provide excellent relief.

I found Bill really lovely and friendly but the state of the place was quite unsettling and the lack of communication was my biggest issue. He never read the booking information and also wouldn’t pay attention and listen to me when I was explaining why my partner and I were there, I had to repeat myself many times until he listened. When it comes to treatments you don’t get any information about what you’re ingesting. I asked several times and only got “good for tummy” “good for muscle” I struggled a lot deciding to write this but no one mentions this very important things in the reviews and I wish I had known.
